Pontianak (Antaranews Kalbar) - The Indonesian Wings Air Airlines will open another international route linking Pontianak`s Supadio airport and the Malaysian Sarawak Miri airport starting March 15, 2018.

"We aim to strengthen connectivity and air transportation facility for customers of the two regions and to another destination," the Lion Air group district manager Lukman Nurjaman said here on Monday.

According to him, at this new route there will be one flight per day starting from the Supadio airport at 3.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Standard time (WIB) and arrive in Miri at 6.20 p.m. local time.

The reverse flight will be scheduled to depart from Miri Airport at 6.50 p.m. local time and scheduled to arrive in Pontianak at 7.40 p.m. WIB, he noted.

The duration of the distance from Pontianak to Miri is only about 2 hours, with one trip airfare is about Rp700 thousand.

In the meantime, a land line from Pontianak to Miri takes about 16 hours.

Lukman went on to say that the Wings Air will use its fleet with ATR 72-600 type which can accommodate 72 passengers.
