Pontianak (Antaranews Kalbar) - Government of Singkawang City is preparing 10.000 small ketupat ( a rice packed inside a diamond-shapped of woven palm leaf pouch) lanterns ornament, where the production involves various elements of local society for enliven Ramadhan celeberation this year.
" We will increase this ketupats lanterns ornament’s installation around Raya Mosque and Jl Merdeka ( Tama Burung) Singkawang," said Singkawang Vice Chairman, Ramadhan Fair Agus Prayitno, on Monday.
According to him, the installation of ketupat lanterns has started this day precisely on Jl Budi Utomo (around the police statue).
"The goal is we promote (inform) to society that soon there are Ramadan activities," he said.
The material of ketupat which use is a kind of plastic paper (scootlight), which previousely had been tested to make sure the material can be durable.
Afterwards, when exposed by light the ketupat lanterns ornament also will radiatte the light especially at night.
Besides of the small size, the Government of Singkawang City will also prepare two pieces of large giant ketupat lantern (ornaments).
"One of them will placed in front of Raya Mosque Singkawang and the other one will be placed in front of the former of Mahkota Hotel," he said.
However, if there aresociety in Singkawang which like to participate in order to enliven Ramadhan Fair certainy it is very good.
"It is very good if they can help in terms of cost, but they may also help through power, or giving their thought (idea) or their prayer," he said.
Considering the series of Ramadhan Fair activities is not merely highlighting the Ketupat lanterns ornament but there are also religious magnigicience
"Howover, at the end we will packed the activities into tourist vacation. Therefore we really hope participation from society in Singkawang," he said.
According to him, the concept for enliven Ramadan Fair not only must be Ketupat ornaments, but also ornaments in other forms such as a giant crescent moon.
"If indeed there are society who prepare the crescent moon ornaments we can put in the Taman Burung later," he said.
