Pontianak, W Kalimantan, Feb 1 (Antaranews Kalbar) - West Kalimantan recorded a strong growth of 32.7 percent year-on-year in exports to US$827.3 million in 2017, the regional office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said.

         "The exports of West Kalimantan in 2017 were 32.7 percent larger than the previous year," head of the BPS Pitono said here on Thursday.

         The main export commodities from the province are chemicals, rubber and rubber products  and timber with the main export destinations China, Malaysia  and Japan.

         "Throughout 2017 , exports have continued to pick up as a result of the commodity price hike. Hopefully the trend would continue in 2018," Pitono said.
