West Kalimantan release dozens of protected fauna

Pontianak (Antaranews Kalbar ) - The Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) of West Kalimantan release dozens of protected wild fauna in two areas those are the conservation of TWA Baning and Bukit Kelam, Sintang District.
"There are 11 horned frogs (Megophrys Nasuta) that we release in the TWA (Taman Wisata Alam) or nature park area of Kelam Mountain, and 1 slot (Nycticubus coucang) and 4 leaf turtles (Cyclemys dentata) are also released in Baning TWA area," said Head of BKSDA West Kalimantan,Sadtata Noor Adirahmanta in Pontianak, on Thursday.
He explained that the release itself aims to create the regeneration of the fauna as well as animal welfare for the fauna themselves.
According to him, the fauna are result of submission by citizens, and some of them are the result of arrest when thwart smuggling and trade attempts of protected fauna.
"Horned frog and leaf turtles is result of haul at Supadio Pontianak airport post, while the Sloth is submission from society in Sintang," he said.
The release of protected fauna in Sintang conservation areas and residents while handing Tong-tong stork to officers BKSDA.
Related to the release, the parties will take care strictly to suppress the rate of delivery illegal goods especially flora and dauna, especially at the airport post, sea port and in border inter-countries.
