Putussibau (Antaranews Kalbar) – Road access inter-Kalimantan will be more open. Head of Public Center of Road and Bridge of XI Area, Ministry of PUPR, Timbul Manahan Pasaribu said the parallel road to the border of West Kalimantan is completed in 2019, including road access through West Kalimantan to East Kalimantan Province in Kapuas Hulu Regency.
"Along 850 kilometers of parallel border roads in West Kalimantan will be completed in 2019," said Timbul Manahan Pasaribu, while accompanying the Vice Chairman of Commission V of the House of Representatives, Lasarus, to review the parallel border road in Kapuas Hulu area of West Kalimantan on Thursday.
For the parallel road border West Kalimantan - East Kalimantan in Kapuas Hulu along 170 kilometers. In 2017 the parallel road which have not finish was along 107 kilometers and this year it will be handled along 60 kilometers.
Timbul explained, 47 kilometers will be handled in 2019, so the road can pass until the East Kalimantan border.
"Be sides of opening a road of 60 kilometers, this year we also do the asphalting, while for the bridge some of them had built permanently since 2015," said Timbul.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of Commission V of the House of Representatives, Lasarus stressed that the implementation of the parallel road construction in the border of Kalbar – Kaltim is in accordance with the contract.
"We hope that in 2019, access of Kalbar - East Kalimantan can be pass," said Lasarus.
The Regent of Kapuas Hulu, Abang Muhammad Nasir said Kapuas Hulu indeed received special attention by the central government, so the development program should be supported.
"We are committed to support the central government's development program, for the progress of Kapuas Hulu, especially that road is indeed the needs of the community," said Nasir.
